Douglas Thain qualified from the University of Glasgow in 1999. He has been with the practice since 2000 and became a practice principal in 2005. Douglas also spent nine years training new graduates as part of the vocational training scheme. Douglas enjoys all aspects of dentistry and strives to provide treatment that is minimally invasive and stress free. When not working, Douglas enjoys spending time with his family, particularly his young daughter and three rescue cats. He loves motorsport in all forms and enjoys travelling around the country participating in races and track events.

Lorna Thain qualified in 2003 from the University of Glasgow with Commendation. She has been with the practice since 2004 and became a practice principal in 2012. Lorna enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is keen to ensure that her patients have a stress free experience. When not working, Lorna enjoys yoga, coffee, travelling and spending time with her friends and family, in particular her young daughter and three rescue cats.

Charlotte Payne is originally from Manchester but moved to Scotland to study dentistry and qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2011. Her main interest in dentistry is the treatment of anxious patients with intravenous sedation. She has worked in sedation referral clinics and carried out IV sedation for six years. Charlotte has also spent time in a joint hospital and community post which involved carrying out dentistry for special care patients and young children. Outside work, Charlotte enjoys metafit and going to the gym. She also enjoys looking after her two adorable cats!

Rebecca McGowan qualified in 2016 from the University of Glasgow. Rebecca’s interests in dentistry include Invisalign orthodontics and treating children and anxious patients. She is a fully qualified Invisalign GO provider - an almost invisible alternative to “train track” braces. Outwith dentistry, Rebecca enjoys going to the gym, skiing and socialising with friends.

Kirsty Lang qualified in 2017 with Honours from the University of Glasgow. Kirsty’s interests in dentistry include Invisalign orthodontics and the treatment of nervous patients. Kirsty is a fully qualified Invisalign GO provider - an almost invisible alternative to “train track” braces. Kirsty also takes great pride in being able to offer intravenous conscious sedation for anxious patients. In her spare time, Kirsty enjoys keeping fit at the gym, socialising with friends and family and travelling abroad.

Claire Gallagher is our highly experienced hygienist/therapist. Claire qualified as a dental hygienist from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 1988. For over 30 years she has worked in a variety of dental practices, gaining vast experience in patient care. In 2009, Claire returned to study Dental Therapy at Edinburgh Dental Institute. Claire believes that it is important that patients are comfortable during their treatment and her main objective is to encourage the highest standards of personal dental hygiene while ensuring patients have a positive experience when they visit the hygienist. Outside work, Claire enjoys hillwalking, yoga, keeping fit and spending time with her friends and family.
